During your cycling holidays in Normandy, discover a land of history, culture and traditions, a paradise for visitors in search of authenticity and natural beauty. Peaceful and unspoiled, this marvelous region of France conceals an incredible diversity of landscapes, from forests, groves and rural meadows of the green countryside to the majestic white cliffs of the Alabaster coast, passing through the famous bay of Mont-Saint- Michel, the meanders of the Seine valley, the “suisse normande” or the marshes of Cotentin and Bessin.
Your Normandy bike tours will also take you back in time through a fascinating history ranging from the Viking era including the epic of William the Conqueror to the landings of June 1944. Local gastronomy is not to be outdone: Your bike rides will undoubtedly be punctuated by “tasting breaks” to enjoy seafood, salted meadowsweet or even cider and cheeses from the Pays d’Auge.
Our bike tours in Normandy will take you around the provinces of Manche and Calvados. From time to time, you will take the “Vélomaritime” cycle route which links Dunkerque to Morlaix on its French side, along the coast of the North Sea and the English Channel. It will take you through, among others, the flowered coast between Deauville and Honfleur, the landing beaches (Juno beach, Omaha beach etc) between Ouistreham and Sainte-Mère l’Eglise and of course the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel in the extrem Western Normandy.
You will also ride across the Normandy hinterland in order not to miss the postcard landscapes of the Pays d’Auge or the Cotentin peninsula. Gentle bike rides on small countryside roads, between groves, small hills, dairy farms and peaceful valleys.
Every evening, your stops will invite you to stroll through the medieval alleys of the historic centers of towns and ports. Do not miss to visit Bayeux, Caen, Cabourg, Deauville and of course Honfleur, which have some wonderful “art and history” surprises in store for you, through their museum, cathedral, abbey, garden, or memorial.
